Punjab Government Dispatches 2,233 Teams to Survey Flood-Affected Areas

Lahore: On the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a comprehensive rehabilitation survey is under way across the flood-affected districts of the province to ensure transparent assessment and fair compensation for victims.

According to the latest briefing to the chief minister, 2,233 survey teams have been deployed across 27 flood-hit districts, reaching every affected household to collect detailed data. Teams have also been using boats to access remote and submerged villages, ensuring no family is left unaccounted for.

Director General PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia reported that data of over 127,000 victims has been recorded so far. The survey has also compiled details of 88,865 farmers who lost crops on 342,000 acres of land, and documented 37,044 damaged houses. Additionally, 1,400 livestock owners have reported the loss of 5,836 animals.

Personnel from the Pakistan Army, Urban Unit, and Revenue, Agriculture, and Livestock Departments are participating in the door-to-door survey, while PDMA Punjab monitors daily progress to ensure efficiency and transparency.

Flood-affected residents have expressed gratitude over the government’s swift response, praising CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif and PML-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for ensuring that every deserving person receives timely assistance.
