Govt, JAAC Reach Deal to End AJK Protests

MUZAFFARABAD (Tazza Globel News) – The final round of talks between the government’s delegation and the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) concluded successfully on Friday, as both sides signed an agreement to end the protests and unrest in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, a member of the Prime Minister’s negotiation committee, confirmed that the deal has been signed and called it a “victory for peace.” He said protesters are now returning home and all blocked roads have been reopened.

Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal also hailed the agreement, describing it as a win for Pakistan, AJK, and democracy. He noted that the past weeks of public grievances had created a tough situation, but through dialogue and leadership, the issue was resolved peacefully without violence or division.

He added that the resolution represents the triumph of people’s voices and the spirit of consultation, with the government pledging to work together with JAAC for better governance and development in Azad Kashmir.
